2/3 Dove

Welcome to Dove Class

In our class, you will find Class Teacher Mrs Partridge (Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays), Mrs Newbury (Thursdays and Fridays) and Learning Support Assistant Mrs Atkins (every day).

We work hard to help your child reach their full potential and make the very best progress they can, while still having fun and enjoying learning.

Every day, we learn Phonics, Maths and English, beginning with an early morning maths activity at 8:45am to warm up our brains! We are committed to improving the children’s basic skills and are often to be found practising our mental maths skills and times tables in spare moments during the day.

Reading is important and we like the children to change their book at the beginning of the day so there is a new book to read at school and at home.

We are lucky to have some dedicated parent helpers who regularly support the children through hearing readers or running a maths activity such as ‘telling the time.’ Please see us in the classroom if you can spare a little time every week to help in class.

Each week, we ask the children to complete spelling activities for homework, along with their daily reading practice.  Learning times tables and simple add and subtract sums by heart will also help the children to progress steadily and confidently in maths. We are grateful for all your support with homework.

Don't forget, PE is on a Monday and Thursday.  Please ensure PE kits are named and always available in lockers.

Please do not hesitate to visit us in the classroom before or after school if you have any questions or concerns or if you would like to view your child’s work.

Also please see the Help Your Child information page for more resources.
