Welcome to class 1 Willow.
Here you will find teacher Mrs R King and learning support assistant Mrs Shepherd working hard to educate year one children. Presently Mrs King is off due to illness and Mrs Dovey is teaching in Willow class. We have weekly spelling tests and homework, which involves the children using their spelling words in practise. This shows if they understand the definition of a word correctly, meaning they will be more likely to use it in other writing as well as giving that all important opportunity to use correct punctuation.
Our focus will be around maths skills over the coming term, we constantly practise our mental skills as well as learning a variety of ways to carry out the four operations.
Any interesting artefacts or information that you might like to share with the class then visitors are always welcome and appreciated by the children. We are always happy to have parental help in class to hear children read or to work on some maths skills with a small group.
Don't forget PE is on Monday and Friday, PE kits are required.
Any concerns, worries or if you want to just pop in and see how things are going then speak to Mrs King before or after school.
You can view the half termly quests with details of the subjects and key learning points on the curriculum page.
