Welcome to Yew class!
In Yew class Mr Hole teaches Year 5 and 6 with learning support assistant Mrs Atkins. We love being creative and enjoying our learning, so ensuring lots of fun and engaging activities are available is our number one priority. Every morning you will see us working hard at our EMA (early morning activity) to fine tune our maths skills. We all know what level we are working at and what we need to do to achieve the next level, helping us to achieve our full potential.
We are focusing on maths over the coming term and have been practising our multiplication facts to help us get quicker.
Every day, we continue to improve our literacy skills. We like to use drama and ICT to bring writing to life, helping us to create imaginative and lively texts. Spellings are learnt and tested weekly with regular opportunities each day to practise them.
You can view the half termly quests with details of the subjects and key learning points on the curriculum page.
We have swimming every other Tuesday and PE on a Wednesday, so we need to remember to bring our PE kits (including tracksuits for outside when it is cold).
Mr Hole and Mrs are always available before and after school to talk to us about any concerns.
